Normy's Beach-Babe-O-Rama was released by Electronic Arts in 1994 for the Sega Genesis console. The game was primarily designed by Keith Robinson and David Warhol, one of Keith's Intellivision co-workers. Dave is founder and president of Realtime Associates, the software company that developed Normy. Not-so-coincidentally, Dave is a character both in the Making It comic strip and in the Normy game.

For you classic gamers who still have a Genesis console, below is the cheat code that lets you start the game on any level. Enjoy!

CHEAT CODE
In Normy's Beach Babe-O-Rama, you control Normy as he travels through six different worlds to rescue the goddesses of the beach and bring good Karma back to the sand. Each one of these worlds is broken up into three to five levels. Normally, you have to start at the first level and work your way up through all the worlds, but not if you know how to cheat:

When powering on your Sega unit, press buttons A, B, and C on the RIGHT hand controller. Keep them all pressed down until the Normy title screen appears. (If you only have one hand controller, plug it into the right controller port, power on, and press down A, B, and C until the Normy title screen appears, then unplug it and plug it into the left controller port.)

Now, select OPTIONS. At the bottom of the OPTIONS screen you will see an option not normally available: LEVEL TEST. This lets you cycle through all the levels, starting the game at any one you wish.

REALTIME ASSOCIATES
Nestled away not so much on the beach as near the airport, Realtime Associates is a Los Angeles-based software development group specializing in video games. Many of their principals worked at Mattel Electronics writing games for the Intellivision, where a whole game was the same size as a single sound in Normy.

Nowadays, they develop a variety of games for a variety of systems for a variety of customers, but no game has been as great a labor of love for them as Normy.

Now that the game is done, we haven't seen them so much near the airport as on the beach.
